Terms and Conditions
Payment:
For orders not made through the website, a 50% non-refundable deposit of the total order must be paid in order to secure your order. For any cancelled orders, this will not be refunded. For orders that are amended or rescheduled, you are liable to pay any additional costs that incur as a result.
Final payment is due a minimum of 24 hours before collection. If the remaining balance is being paid in cash, I require payment to be paid on delivery/collection.
Deposits and full payments are to be made via BACS/bank transfer, PayPal or cash. You are welcome to pay the full amount upon ordering, however this amount is subject to change if you change or amend your order.
All quotes given are valid for 7 days from the date of quotation. If you exceed this time frame you will have to go through the order process again.
Collection/Delivery and Cancellation Policy:
Once the cake or products have been passed to you. I am no longer responsible for any damage. Every reasonable effort has been made to ensure you are aware of how to correctly transport and store your products prior to collection, therefore please refer to the ‘cake care tips’ section of the website before collection to ensure that your products arrive in the same condition as they left in.
If I am delivering the cake or products, I will take responsibility for ensuring it arrives in a suitable condition. However, once handed over, I am no longer liable for any damage.
Cakes and other products that are made to order must be collected at the agreed time/date. If you are going to be late you must let me know as soon as possible. Collections may have to be re-arranged if you are going to be considerably late, however this may not always be possible. When you order, you accept the responsibility of arriving for your collection on time, and therefore will not receive a refund if the order cannot be collected.
I reserve the right to resell any cakes not collected within 24 hours of the original agreed collection date/time, with no refunds given.
No refunds will be given for any uncollected orders with no exceptions. If you have previous written confirmation that you have re-arranged your order for a different collection, this applies to your new collection date/time.
Any orders that are cancelled by you less than 72 hours prior to your agreed time and date of collection will be charged in full if not already paid; if paid, no refund of any amount will be given.
Any orders that are cancelled by you with more than 72 hours’ notice will be required to pay any outstanding charges (for example decorations that have been ordered in specifically for your order, or any personalised items) as well as your non-refundable 50% deposit.
I reserve the right to cancel orders that I am unable to do – this is uncommon and if there are any issues, every effort will be made to reschedule your order instead of cancelling. Depending on the notice given, you may receive a refund if I deem it unacceptable on my account. By placing your order, you agree that this is reasonable.
Amending your order:
Collections cannot usually be changed so please make sure you are certain of the date and time you wish to collect before you place your order, especially if it before the event you need your product(s) for.
If you wish to change or amend your order, you must let me know as soon as possible. Whilst every effort will be made to accommodate any changes, depending on the notice given, or the request made, it may not be possible to amend the order, for example if I have started working on your product or have already ordered out-of-business items (such as toppers or flowers) specific to your original design/order.
Complaints:
All products are baked and made to order and therefore we do not accept returns.
All products I make are fresh produce containing no additives or preservatives and it is my right to assume consumption on the day requested.
In the unlikely event that there is something wrong with your order, it is your sole responsibility to contact me via email within 24 hours after receiving your order. You will be required to either return the products for inspection or send adequate photos (which must be agreed within the 24 hours) if you wish to appeal for a refund.
I will not accept any liability for any issues or complaints outside of this timeframe.
Any refund or agreed replacement will be given entirely at my own discretion and will be the final settlement.
If you are collecting your products, and you are not happy with the overall look, you must say so before the products exchange hands. If you are having your products delivered, you will be given the option for final photos to be sent prior to delivery, so that if you are unhappy with the overall look, your order can be amended before travel. If you do not say anything before the exchange, no refunds or replacements will be given as a result of any issues with the overall look of your products – it is your responsibility to say if your order is not correct upon completion.
Both parties agree not to post any negative information about the other with regards to this contract on any online website, social media, or forum without providing a written notice in advance of the intent to do so, and the opportunity for the other party to resolve any issues amicably first.
Your Order:
Serving suggestions and portions are a guide only – please refer to my ‘servings guide’ section in the Care and Storage Tips for the best results and tips for servings.
Please give details of any allergies before your order is placed. The Final Slice Bakery is not allergy free, and therefore cannot guarantee there are no traces of allergens. Please be aware that when you place an order you are accepting these terms and conditions and it is your sole responsibility to make it known upon (or before) ordering if you have any allergies, and that The Final Slice Bakery will not be liable should you fail to mention it.
I photograph the majority of my cakes and other sweet treats for use on my website and social media. I reserve the rights to these photographs without any compensation to you. If you would like the photos I have taken of your products, you must ask for permission directly from me, and tag the relevant social media on any post that you use them on. Since you are not buying the photos from me, they will still belong to me and I reserve the right to ask they be taken down at any point.
Orders made with less than 1 weeks’ notice will be considered ‘last minute’ and will therefore be limited to specific flavours and decorations as well as collection times – delivery may not be an option for anything last minute. Depending on how much late notice is given, extra charges may apply.
Tiered cakes contain cake dowels and cake boards for supporting layers. These must be removed before consumption – it is your responsibility to do this.
Some products may be decorated with non-edible items. These are your responsibility to remove before consumption (examples include things such as non-edible cake toppers and fresh flowers).
All orders are subject to my own interpretation – if you wish for something to be a more exact copy then you may be asked to supply decorations or flavourings in order to achieve this, otherwise a reasonable effort will be made to replicate but not copy the original inspiration. As standard, all products will be in my own style.
For custom orders/not made through the website, an order will not be considered placed or ‘confirmed’ until the deposit has been paid. Once paid, you will be sent a copy of what you have ordered as well as the terms and conditions. This will be done via email so please make sure it is correct upon ordering.
